  • Chief Executive Officer

    Adrianna Wang

    Adrianna is a first-generation Filipina American, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and an advocate for minority rights (Center for Asian Americans United for Self-Empowerment - CAUSE, American Legion).

    A U.S. Army veteran, she served in Support Maintenance, Combat Support, and Psychological Operations, experiences that shaped her perspective and storytelling approach.

    Adrianna is passionate about filmmaking and has produced several independent short films recognized for their authentic representation and emotional depth. Burger Day received honorable mentions and festival screenings (IMDb, KPBS), while Aftermath: White Rabbit premiered at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

    As Chief Executive Officer at Spike & Crown Studios, she is committed to crafting stories that resonate across audiences. She co-wrote The House of La Mancha with the goal of bringing candid storytelling to the forefront, shining a light on the realities of mental illness and trauma.

  • Chief Operations Officer

    Ed Alva

    Ed has played a pivotal role in crafting powerful, award-winning non-fiction stories. As Editor and Post-Production Supervisor for Not So Pretty (2022), a Max Original Series, he helped expose untold truths about the beauty industry. His work as Associate Editor and Post-Production Supervisor on Allen v. Farrow (2021), an HBO Original Series, was instrumental in shaping a complex narrative that earned seven Emmy nominations.

    Ed’s expertise extends to feature documentaries, including The Hunting Ground (2015), where his work helped shed light on sexual assault on college campuses. He also contributed to The Invisible War (2012), an Academy Award-nominated, two-time Emmy-winning film examining rape cases in the U.S. military.

    As Chief of Operations at Spike & Crown Studios, Ed oversees animated projects from inception to final cut, ensuring they are both visually compelling and narratively impactful. His experience with sensitive topics and intricate storytelling makes him an invaluable force in shaping bold, independent animation.

  • Chief Creative Officer

    Frans Tedja Kusuma

    As an illustrator, visual development artist, and storyboard artist, Frans has worked with clients including Red Hour Films, New Line Cinema, Bredow Bros, Goddard Design Group, and Universal Studios. His personal works have been published in multiple volumes of Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art and showcased in the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles Exhibition: Illustration West.

    In addition to his professional work, Frans is a dedicated faculty member, teaching production design, visual development, and illustration at universities and community colleges across central California.

    Over the past decade, Frans co-wrote The House of La Mancha, a project deeply personal to him as he worked to reconcile his own childhood trauma. As Chief Creative Officer at Spike & Crown Studios, he is committed to ensuring minority voices are integral to both business and creative operations, with the goal of elevating unheard stories.

  • Head of Production

    John Lee

    John is a bona fide introvert who grew up in 1980s Taipei. As an artist and Head of Production at Spike & Crown Studios, he oversees color scripts, concept designs (props, backgrounds), and storyboard approvals alongside Frans. He also directs overseas teams and freelance modelers, ensuring our characters come to life.

    John’s artistic journey was inspired by his father, who drew comics. His background includes freelance work with Warner Bros. Animation and illustrations for mobile games. Outside of production, he expresses himself through vibrant, dreamlike landscape paintings.

    Juno Lee

    Before joining Spike & Crown Studios, Juno served as Creative Officer for award-winning comedian Dave Chappelle’s Los Angeles tour and merchandise branch. She has collaborated with the Los Angeles Lakers, The Grammy Awards, MGM Grand, Manny Pacquiao, the Jabbawockeez, Joe Rogan, and many more. Most recently, she assisted artist & director Mike Carson (Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Nike) in production and live experience design.

    As Head of Brand at Spike & Crown Studios, Juno leads a team of designers and creators, ensuring all public-facing content aligns with the studio’s vision and objectives.

  • Vincent Hsiao

    Vincent specializes in strategic growth and business development. As the Director of Business Development at Spike & Crown Studios, he collaborates closely with the CEO, COO, and marketing team to drive market activations and achieve key milestones.

    Before joining Spike & Crown, Vincent led an organization that secured a partnership with NASA’s Technology Transfer Office. His team focused on prototyping and commercializing three inventions that successfully obtained grant funding.

    With over a decade of experience in consulting and sales, Vincent has established contracts with both publicly traded companies and local businesses. He is a proud alumnus of California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where he graduated as a Presidential Scholar.

  • Executive Producer

    Kim Estes

    After earning degrees from California State University, Cal Maritime Academy, and USC’s Marshall School of Business, Estes served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and U.S. Navy for 14 years before transitioning to acting. He has worked as Chief Engineer in the marine industry, Head of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability for a Fortune 500 company, and Special Investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board.

    Estes received an Emmy Award in 2017 for Outstanding Actor and has appeared in acclaimed television series, including Dexter, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Los Angeles, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful. His film credits include Underdog (2007), Breathing Room (2008), Loyalty (2019), and Playing Beethoven (2020). His stage work has earned NAACP Best Actor nominations for Changes in the Mating Strategies of White People and Treat Yourself Like Cary Grant.

    Now, as an Executive Producer at Spike & Crown Studios, Estes contributes his industry experience and creative vision to the studio’s projects. He also lends his voice to bring its characters and stories to life.
